YouthGovAI
AI is Powerful. So Are You.
YouthGovAI is a European project that empowers young people and the youth sector to actively shape European AI governance. As AI continues to transform society, the project ensures that young voices are heard and contribute to discussions on its ethical, social, and political implications.
Key objectives of YouthGovAI include to enhance the AI literacy of young people as well as educators in the non-formal educational sector by offering them a specialised e-learning platform and online courses on relevant topics around artificial intelligence. This provides young people with the skills to critically engage with AI technologies, understand their societal impact, and advocate for responsible AI development whereas educators are enabled to integrate AI literacy into their teaching practices. We further enhance youth participation in AI governance discussions by providing knowledge about AI governance frameworks and by connecting young people and the youth sector with policymakers, civil society organisations and AI experts through focus groups, co-creation sessions, discussions and conferences as well as a digital platform. The project also raises awareness about AI and its societal impacts by writing policy papers and by implementing awareness campaigns targeting young people, policy makers and the general public.
