Speechless in Europe is a storytelling project, which connects young people from France, Italy, Hungary and Germany without a common language and makes it possible to exchange views – on Europe and individual stories.

Political education about the European Union is a difficult topic. Euro-scepticism is growing, especially for the youth the EU seems far away. They don’t feel understood or taken seriously, and if the EU, for one, communicates to them it is in an elitist manner – through political youth organisations or in universities.

 Speechless in Europe takes up this problem. We are developing innovative and creative methods to get the group of young people excited for Europe that the EU does not reach through conventional ways of communication. They have the possibility to exchange opinions about Europe and tell their very own story.

The stories originate in local workshops on film, photography, graffiti, theatre and sports. On the Ypart Online-Plattform the stories are both being shared and discussed. The authors of the most popular entries meet in Rome for the Storytelling-Festival .
